The quasi-equilibrium hypothesis (QEH) plays an important role in modeling theoretically the tropical atmosphere and parameterizing deep convection in global climate models (GCMs). This study examines the validity of different types of QEH using long term observational datasets from the tropics. The results were also compared with 22 IPCC AR4 and 10 IPCC AR5 GCMs. The detailed results will be reported at the conference.ed by 98.28.26.51 on 11-17-2011-->
