37th Conference on Broadcast Meteorology

Update on the NEEF/COMET climate change module

Victoria Johnson, UCAR/COMET, Boulder, CO; and D. Sliter and J. P. Lamos

At the 36th Conference on Broadcast Meteorology, the COMET Program and the National Environmental and Education Program (NEEF) discussed preliminary plans for a new module as part of their series for broadcast meteorologists. At that time, we solicited input from the audience on questions that should be addressed in the module.

The module, "Climate Change: Fitting the Pieces Together" is now available online. The module gives a broad overview of the topic of climate change, including how scientists study climate change, observations of current climate change, and projections of future changes and the resulting impacts. In addition, the module provides links to graphical resources, the narrative script, and a Powerpoint presentation that broadcasters can adapt for their own use.
