MM5/Urbanized version is a kind of meso-scale meteorological model used the drag force approach for the parameterization of turbulence but has difficulties for simulation of momentum fluxes. It requires the special parameters for urban canopy and modifications for several deficits. We made the urban canopy parameters for phoenix and tried to improvement with some of approaches for turbulent, theoretically. After new parameterizations with UCP for Phoenix, simulation results show the urban heat island effect and the other urban micrometeorology, coupled with regional air pollution during the night time. We will show that the modified MM5/urbanized version is useful to understand the UHI and urban meteorology and air pollution at night.
