The Tropical Cyclone Structure, 2008 (TCS-08) experiment was conducted

during August-September, 2008 in the Western North Pacific. As part of

the project, a 2-micron coherent Doppler wind lidar (DWL) with a

2-axis scanner was operated on the Navy P-3 aircraft. The primary

research goal of the DWL was to obtain high resolution vertical wind

profiles surrounding incipient tropical storms. We present preliminary

results and analyses.
