The University of Wisconsin Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC) Data center ingests and distributes data from over 12 different low earth orbiting (leo) and 11 different geostationary (geo) weather satellites. Communicating to the public the differences between leo and geo satellites can be a challenge. This presentation will describe and demonstrate a new WebGL based tool that shows an accurate visualization of leo and geo satellites, which includes all satellites' positions in real-time. Unlike other satellite tracking/visualization tools, this tool also includes real-time updating global cloud cover. The visualization is interactive and is very scalable to a large number of simultaneous clients.
