The Console Replacement System (CRS) disseminates National Weather Service (NWS) hazards and hazard products from other agencies to over 1000 transmitters across the Nation for broadcast to NOAA Weather Radios. The Broadcast Message Handler (BMH) Project incorporates the CRS functionality into the AWIPS infrastructure, providing a more robust and extensible capability, and requiring much less special-purpose hardware, than the current CRS.

This presentation summarizes the BMH scope, architecture, benefits, and project status.
