127 Severe Wind Damage Associated with Winter Convection in Southern California

Severe winds and widespread wind damage was observed in extreme Southern California during three winter storms in 2016. These events occurred on January 31st, March 7th, and March 11th. In all of these cases, a narrow band of convection, some accompanied by lightning, moved across the Southern California Bight and into portions of the coast.
