Future of Air Quality Management
John D. Bachmann, U.S. EPA, Research Triangle Park, NC
This presentation will use the recommendations of and followup to the recent National Academy of Sciences Panel review of air quality management in the US as an organizing point. It will include alternative views of the nature of air quality management problems facing the US over the next 10 to 20 years, and the intersection of those issues with related global, regional, and local concerns. It will also discuss the important role of continuing improvements in our ability to forecast cast on a wide range of spatial and temporal scale physical and chemical properties of key atmospheric pollutants.
