Session 6 Physical Processes at the Air-Sea Interface, including waves, spray, bubbles, and aerosols II

Tuesday, 12 January 2021: 4:00 PM-5:00 PM

Description:

The air-sea interface marks the literal boundary between the atmosphere and ocean that is subject to a myriad of physical processes converging across a thousand-fold density jump. While the physics of the domain are inherently fine scale, their implications and consequences span the local to global-scales and thus are important for our overall conception of the coupled atmosphere-ocean system. This session will feature advances in our ability to measure, model, and conceptualize the complex physics at the interface and the implications these processes have on air-sea coupled processes. We expect contributions to this session to mark the intersection of both upper ocean and lower atmospheric physical processes. Contributions that utilize emerging technologies, showcase novel applications, or entrain multiple disciplines are highly encouraged. Studies featuring unique dataset or highlighting challenging physical problems are welcome.
