Session 2A Extreme Precipitation II & Understanding the Soil Moisture Spectrum: From Data Collection to Actionable Applications I

Monday, 11 January 2021: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM

Description:

This session invites papers on all aspects of extreme precipitation, including snowfall, to specifically investigate their relationships to floods and to the termination of droughts.  Possible topics include observations, modeling, short-term and seasonal prediction, climate change, and risk assessment.  Papers exploring the causes and consequences of individual extreme precipitation events that cause floods or terminate droughts, details of the relationship between extreme precipitation and flooding, and drivers of changing drought, extreme precipitation, and flood risk, are particularly encouraged.
