328 Addressing Climate Education By Teaching With the SDGs

This presentation will share an example of an applied pedagogy focused on teaching with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and not just about these goals. The example shared in this presentation focuses on the urban heat island effect as an outcome of a shifting climate. The pedagogy shared uses real-world data sets collected by scientists combined with demographic data sets to allow for the examination of the impact of the phenomena studied on the people impacted. The overall structure of the pedagogy shared as well as all data used in the shared example will be made available to the attendees.
