The Forecast Decision Training Division will be releasing training for all meteorologists and hydrologists to develop “Ensemble Fluency''. This training is designed to give the NWS workforce the ability to ask the right questions of the datasets/distributions available to them to help them understand the meteorological reasoning behind each grouping of members. It is also designed to allow NWS personnel to provide realistic forecast probabilities around the distribution of ensemble members within the context of meteorological events.
This poster will provide the highlights of the soon to be released Ensemble Fluency training and provide information on the key learning objectives contained in the training. The lead author will also be available to answer any questions about the training and potential future needs that will build off this initial training set.
