Substantial continuing efforts are underway to mine the 25+ years of tornado data, spanning over 200 unique tornadoes, often observed for substantial periods, collected by the DOW radars. This talk will provide the most recent updates to research relating to tornado intensity, size, structure, and vertical wind speed dependence, and the temporal evolution of wind speed, based on the continuing DOW tornado climatology analysis effort. While there are often delays between the newest research and the adoptions of standards informed by that research, these DOW-based results will inform later versions of wind speed estimation standards.
