The Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC) understands that community modeling takes a significant amount of support from many community members to facilitate innovation. EPIC’s mission is to accelerate contributions to the Unified Forecast System (UFS) and engaging the community is a key tenant to make sure members have the tools and knowledge needed to be successful. As a part of the community, EPIC supports innovation through community events such as code sprints, Hack Fests, conference workshops, conference short courses, and demonstrations as requested. The EPIC team also supports community engagement through tutorials, robust documentation, conferences, workshops, easy to use documentation, discussion forums, EPIC community portal, EPIC dashboard, and support emails. EPIC teams support a wide range of skills from infrastructure, application support, advanced user support, discussions, information sharing, and much more. EPIC engages students, government, academia, and industry so there are no roadblocks to innovation affecting operations.
