A part of the AMS Board of Higher Education, the 2YC working group was created to engage more two-year college faculty with AMS and bring 2YC issues to the BHE. The goals of the 2YC working group are to create 2YC and 4YC connections and increase 2YC faculty engagement with AMS. One outcome of the 2YC working group within the AMS Board on Higher Education (BHE) has been the creation and implementation of the AMS 2YC Faculty Survey. This survey was designed with the intended purpose of creating connections, engagement, and opportunities for those in the 2YC community. 2YC meteorology and atmospheric science faculty often lack connections with other faculty and are not well represented within AMS. To create opportunities for 2YC faculty to develop connections and become more involved in AMS, it was important to find out what challenges they are experiencing and how AMS could assist. This presentation will look at the process used to develop the AMS Faculty Survey, the data collected, and how AMS will be using this information to help create connections for 2YC faculty and a sense of belonging within AMS.
