Major Weather Events Around the World as Captured by Satellites

From Hurricane Hilary to the Maui wildfires to Super Typhoon Mawar, 2023 contained numerous high impact weather events around the world. Weather satellites provided constant monitoring, capturing compelling views of these powerful weather phenomena. The Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) has curated satellite animations of these events in the CIRA Satellite Library. This talk will feature these animations, highlighting the most eye-opening imagery of 2023’s major weather events.
