Ball Aerospace has developed a low risk, fully compliant solution to all NASA/NOAA GeoXO Ocean Color (OCX) requirements based on decades of experience delivering high performance spectral sensors for a variety of customers, environments, and applications. The OCX sensor will provide high spatial resolution, moderate spectral resolution, high radiometric sensitivity and calibration accuracy data at an unprecedented area collection rate to enable significant advances in Ocean Color science. This presentation will address architectural trade studies, enabling technologies, concept of operations (CONOPS), and calibration and validation (cal/val) plans related to the fielding of this new benchmark in geostationary ocean color instrumentation.
