The Weather Company’s digital properties, including the weather.com website and The Weather Channel mobile app, are visited by over 350 million users each month. The Weather Company weather data powers forecasts on over 2 billion devices. Some users may simply be curious about the latest weather events and forecasts, but many are looking for information needed to help them make decisions about their daily lives and activities. As first described at the 2023 AMS Annual Meeting, The Weather Company has created weather-related Insights to relate weather information and forecast data to impacts on health, safety, and personal happiness. In this presentation we provide an update on additional insights developed in the past year. We will describe the methodology employed in the development of these insights and, in particular, how air quality forecast data have been integrated into the Insights to inform and alert users to related health and safety impacts. Finally, we will describe how we use Insights to enable a richer level of storytelling in our applications by integrating weather conditions with impacts on users and illuminating connections between weather and health that are inherent but not always apparent.
