Does all this “Generative AI” and “Large Language Model” news seem overwhelming? Not sure how to approach the topic when an instructor or student asks? Then this session on Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) is for you. LLMs refer to large general-purpose language models that can be pre-trained and then fine-tuned for specific purposes. Popular LLMs include ChatGPT and Google Bard. With dozens of choices and new LLMs being developed everyday, this session will provide an overview of popular LLMs along with tips and tricks for getting started. Additionally, a brief discussion on the problems with LLM detection software and the biases it presents will be covered.
