NOAA Open Data Dissemination (NODD) democratizes scalable cloud access to NOAA data, thereby promoting scientific advancement, informed decision-making, and societal benefits. Through free and accessible data sharing, NODD empowers researchers, policymakers, industries, and the public to access a wealth of information related to weather, oceans, climate, and the environment. NODD, working with its cloud platform partners and NOAA Line Office data owners, provides access to resources that fuel innovation, enabling the development of new technologies, predictive models, and applications that enhance disaster preparedness, resource management, and environmental conservation. Democratizing access to NOAA data via the cloud is reaching and building a significant user community that is striving to be weather and climate-ready.

NOAA data in the cloud serves as a critical and valuable resource to a wide range of users across numerous sectors, nationally and globally. From resource managers, to data scientists, to risk analytics, entrepreneurs and developers from a variety of communities capitalize on NOAA data and cloud platform tools to create innovative applications and products that offer real-time weather, climate and oceanographic insights. In addition to recent Program updates, this presentation focuses on user engagement methods, particularly the outcomes from a recent activity called NODD Office Hours, and highlights the benefits of cloud access for a diverse set of stakeholders including cloud partners, NOAA, other researchers, and end users from industry sectors.
