NASA’s Science Mission Directorate (SMD) is making a long-term commitment to support a more equitable, impactful, and efficient scientific future. We are building an inclusive open science community over the next decade via the Open-Source Science Initiative (OSSI) and early career researchers are a key component. NASA offers a variety of research and learning opportunities for early-career professionals to promote innovative research, lower barriers to entry for historically underrepresented communities, and cultivate diverse scientific leadership in Earth System Science. The unique opportunities offered by the Earth Science Division, which includes research and analysis, data systems, applications, and technology help us make Earth science data more usable and impactful for the benefit of humanity.
In this interactive session, we will introduce several NASA Earth Science Division Early Career Research Opportunities, conduct a mini workshop on building an open science plan, and engage in dialogue around proposal requirements and submissions.
