Session Convergence science in the context of integrating weather and climate science with studies of marine and coastal resources and geophysical processes

Description:

Engagements with convergence science can promote inclusive science, expand interinstitutional possibilities, recognize and integrate diverse knowledges, and build representation of diverse knowledge holders. This session provides a series of empirical, institutional, and practice-based examples of integrating weather and climate science in the Chesapeake Bay, Alaska, and more. We also examine opportunities and challenges of convergence science to accelerate inclusive possibilities for such work in various geographic, cultural, and scientific contexts. This session is paired with the Rising Voices, Changing Coasts' session and expands upon it to include scientists and resource managers and with studies of fisheries, marine and coastal resources, and geophysical processes.
