Informed decision making is a critical component of weather and climate preparedness, and safety during human activities. The monitoring and management of natural resources, including precipitation/water, and extreme weather events has put an increased importance on accurate measurement of the atmosphere with large implications for operations and decision making. Specifically defined integrated measurement systems and data analysis tools can aid the decision making process for weather forecasters and operations managers. This session discusses measurement systems available for informing operations and decision making including designs and results from deployments.
