Fog and visibility (Vis) are important for many applications, including aviation, marine, and social life activities, as well as eco-systems which utilize fog water as a reservoir. In this session, fog related measurements, physical processes, and numerical modelling will be the main subjects. Fog intensity represented by Vis will also be a focus of this session. Furthermore, abstracts with both machine learning (ML) and/or artificial intelligence (AI) techniques for fog and Vis will be included. Topics related to observing platforms such as aircraft, UAVs, TBSs, and remote sensing, as well as surface-based microphysics, including nucleation, droplet spectra, and wind, radiation, visibility measurements over marine environments and cold climates will be considered highly relevant for this session, and abstracts on these issues and fog field campaigns are strongly encouraged.
