Description:

Community members engaged in research projects on environmental and climate justice projects will present practices that have yielded a strong collaboration to engage community in addressing environmental issues. How can practitioners and decision makers work alongside community to increase knowledge and awareness of environmental issues. What skills and practices are necessary for strong community collaboration that yield community action for change. This session will bring together community, academics, and practitioners to discuss ways to ensure community is centered in climate change/justice activities and meeting needs through policy and practice. 

The session will include community members presenting with academic partners and providing tips on successful partnerships and engagement efforts.
