While Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and Discipline-Based Educational Research work has been done in the area of alternative grading for other STEM disciplines, research on alternative grading practices is a fledgling area of Atmospheric Science Education Research. This session will feature presentations on the implementation, assessment, and impacts of alternative grading practices in atmospheric science curriculum, including, but not limited to standards-based grading, specifications grading, mastery based grading, ungrading, etc.
