Description:

Cities are at the epicenter of climate extremes, while simultaneously serving as hubs where numerous climate solutions- adaptation and mitigation strategies are being proposed and implemented. The overarching theme of this session will explore the diverse avenues and activities currently underway across different cities, identify common threads and best practices, and examine how a community of knowledge and expertise can collaborate through the AMS. This topic is relevant from an applied climate perspective, cutting across various committees and boards. Furthermore, it is timely and aligns with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) planned Special Assessment Report on Cities and Climate, scheduled for 2026.
