The African American employment numbers in the weather, water, and climate communities continue to be alarmingly low, despite the collective efforts to enhance diversity. The significant contributions from various sectors, including the weather, water, climate industries, and academia, have yet to yield substantial results, while we have witnessed improvements in other demographics' employment numbers. Our panel discussion is a collaborative platform where we will collectively explore the reasons behind this disparity and devise innovative strategies to improve African American employment in these sectors.
