Description:
This session will delve into recent developments in precipitation sensing satellites, building on science from current missions such as, but not limited to, the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission, the European Space Agency's (ESA) Earth Explorers missions like the Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) and the upcoming Earth Clouds, Aerosols and Radiation Explorer (EarthCARE) mission. Submissions should discuss the scientific and technological innovations, applications, and questions driving these missions and their potential to enhance our understanding of global cloud and precipitation patterns. Acceptable topics include mission objectives, sensor technologies, data processing techniques, climatological studies, and science with broader implications for weather forecasting, climate modeling, and hydrological research.
Submission Deadline: Thursday, 15 August 2024
