Session Artificial Intelligence for Coastal Applications

Description:

Coastal areas are home to a large portion of the global population and play a crucial role in the economy, particularly through sectors such as tourism, fisheries, and maritime trade. However, these regions face unique challenges due to climate change, including sea-level rise, increased frequency and severity of storms, coastal erosion, and the degradation of ecosystems. These challenges pose significant threats to the resilience and sustainability of coastal communities.

This session invites research and applications of AI to address the multi-disciplinary challenges confronting coastal areas. Topics could include, but are not limited to climate impact analysis, storm and extreme weather prediction, coastal erosion and marine ecosystem impacts.
