Being a very important topic as AI methods and models begin to integrate more and more into the environmental science community and projects, this panel will help chart forward good practices and paths in AI science by providing their expertise and experience in their own projects and practice. We invite the audience to bring questions and/or concerns about AI development or applications as the field continues to progress at an exponential pace. Topics to be covered by panelists might include:

- when to use what type of AI methods

- explainable AI

- social science components of AI and/or AI in the public eye

- cautionary tales of poorly designed AI models
