Description:
Weather and climate mediate the emergence and transmission of numerous infectious diseases, ranging from viral to vector-borne. This has raised increasing concerns that climate change, in changing temperature, humidity, and precipitation, will alter the seasonality and spatial range of infectious diseases. This session invites submissions that improve our understanding of the environmental drivers of infectious disease, describe modeling frameworks for predicting and projecting changes in disease prevalence on timescales ranging from days to decades, or describe solutions and best practices for reducing the transmission of environmentally-mediated diseases. Submissions salient to infectious disease early warning are particularly encouraged.
Submission Deadline: Thursday, 15 August 2024
