Description:

The assimilation of observations from a substantial and growing number of sensors deployed on environmental satellites requires rapid, accurate conversion of environmental field variables to the physical variables detected and quantified by the sensors. The Community-base Radiative Transfer Model (CRTM) provides this capability to the satellite data user community in support of a broad array of data assimilation systems and environmental models, as well as retrieval systems. This session solicits contributions on methods to improve the speed and accuracy of components of the CRTM, as well as additions to support assimilation of data from new or novel satellite sensors.
