Structure and Evolution of a Tornadic Cold Front in the Intermountain West

David M. Schultz, NOAA/NSSL, Norman, OK

The structure and evolution of a cold front that moved through the Intermountain West on Valentine's Day 2000 will be discussed. This event was notable because it produced the only documented February tornadoes in southern Idaho over the last 52 years. This event was fortuitous in that it was sampled by the observational team during the Intermountain Precipitation Experiment (IPEX). The analysis of this event will present data collected during that field program.
