Numerical simulation was performed with GCM including aerosol indirect effect to simulate global water cloud microphysical character, and compared globaly with satellite-retrieved aerosol and cloud data.

Global characteristics of cloud droplet radii such as land-sea contrast and coastal region feature are simulated to agree with AVHRR retrieval, despite the inconsistency over the equatorial area.

The simulated intercorrelations between cloud microphysical parameters and aerosol particle number are also globally compared with the statistics obtained from AVHRR retrieval. Two types of precipitation parameterization with and without aerosol lifetime effect were investigated. Simulated correlation turned out to be more consistent with satellite remote sensing when aerosol lifetime effect was incorporated into the parameterization.
