A Simple Model for a Moist Turbulent Thermal

This study develops a new simple one-dimensional model for a moist turbulent thermal. The most novel attribute of this model is that it treats the processes of entrainment, i.e. capture, and mixing seperately. The predictions of the model are shown to compare favorably with results from Large-Eddy simulations. They are also shown to be superior to the predictions made using the earlier one-dimensional model of Warner (1970).
