William P. Roeder, 45th Weather Squadron, Patrick AFB, FL; and J. T. Madura

The Advanced Range Technology Working Group (ARTWG) was formed to identify the technologies required for the best performing, most cost-effective future Ranges, and the research required to achieve those technologies. The Weather Subgroup of ARTWG consists of experts from Range weather operations and national centers of weather research. This paper will summarize the results of the ARTWG Weather Subgroup, outlining future desired capabilities and the technologies that need to be developed to achieve those capabilities for optimal Ranges from now to 2028.
