Ground based infrared measurements of stratospheric chemistry from Thule, Greenland
James W. Hannigan, NCAR, Boulder, CO; and M. T. Coffey, A. Goldman, and W. G. Mankin
Since October 1999, we have operated a high resolution Fourier transform infrared spectrometer at Thule, Greenland (76.53N, 68.74W) as part of a primary station of the Network for Detection of Stratospheric Change. We will describe the design and performance of this remotely operated instrument, and present results from the three years of data, including integrated columns of a number of trace gases related to ozone chemistry. Progress in determining profiles by inverting measured line shapes will be shown.
