In this study, the transition from "closed cell" structure to "open cell" structure of stratocumulus was well simulated in a single calculation domain of a large eddy simulation model with higher grid resolution. We integrated the simulation covering wide calculation domain (300 km x 30 km) with higher grid resolution (Δx=50m) for 12 hours. The transition was achieved by the contrast of aerosol number concentration and the strength of the surface heat flux. From analyses of the results of 12 hours the simulation, it was indicated that the aerosol number concentration was major factor for determining whether the stratocumulus takes "open cell" structure or "closed cell" structure.
