Application of the RayMan model in urban environments

In urban climatology the modelling of climate processes is very complex and challenging. Surrounding urban structures or obstacles modify the visible horizon, and therefore incoming radiation fluxes. The RayMan model, developed for the calculation of the mean radiation temperature and thermal indices in simple and complex environments, is based only on data of air temperature, air humidity and wind speed. The relevant radiation fluxes (short and long wave) are calculated by using existing or non global radiation in different ways and the modification of them by the obstacles (natural or artificial). Additional features build the calculation of sunshine duration, shade and global radiation for simple and complex environments. This requires several import possibilities of the surroundings based on digital elevations model, morphologies of obstacles divided in buildings, deciduous and coniferous trees and also the import of fish eye photographs and free drawing of the horizon. The calculation of the energy fluxes of the human body and relevant body parameters is also included.
