Variances of momentum and heat fluxes over turbulence generated by cube array in convective boundary layer

Large-eddy simulation of turbulence generated by cube array in convective boundary layer is performed, and variances of both momentum and heat fluxes are investigated with varying cube arrangement, surface heat flux and geostrophic wind speed. Flow field structure is investigated, and the result reveals that the turbulence structure becomes homogeneous to heterogeneous over the cube array as surface heat flux increases. Streak-like structure is maintained as long as shear stress is larger than buoyancy force. Variances of momentum and heat fluxes somewhat have relation with turbulence structure. Vertical vortex originated from cube array makes the fluxes' horizontal distribution heterogeneous, and increases intensities of the scalar fluctuations.
