The near-field dispersion of fog clouds from insect foggers mounted on, or behind, a moving truck was mapped using the UCONN aerosol lidar in a desert shrub environment. Replicated spray runs were used to quantify the dispersion rates in x,y and x,z planes across a range of stable boundary layer (SBL) wind conditions. The lidar measurements are being used to evaluate parameterizations of a SBL lagrangian particle transport model.
