This paper reports on the structure of the nocturnal boundary layer during low-level jet episodes. Particular attention is paid to the turbulent kinetic energy budget, the turbulence intensity, event periodicity and flux information above and below jet height. This presentation also compares the structure of the stable boundary layer in the presence of jet against a night characterized by the absence of a jet. The study is based on a combination of tall tower turbulence and flux information, Doppler sodar information and an array of seven surface microbarographs recorded near the Savannah River National Laboratory near Aiken, SC.
