R, B1, 25 - Private Forestry in the 21st century: regulations, incentives or other approaches?
Most of the countries wood supply comes from private lands but increasing demand for non-timber uses and other factors such as forest fragmentation and threat of regulations are placing pressure on future timber supplies. This panel discusses the role of incentives, regulations and other tools in private forest management. There will be about 8-10 distinguished speakers representing industry, academia, and government, as well as landowners. Confirmed speakers inclide Fred Cubbage, Neil Sampson, Gary Rynearson, Marc Whalley, Ted Beauvais, and Dennis Parent.
