The current state of the academic sector of the weather and climate enterprise will be discussed including the health of the sector, the strengths and weaknesses of the sector and the effectiveness of partnerships with the public and private sectors of the enterprise. The ability of the academic sector to produce successful graduates meeting the needs of the public and private sector will be discussed.
