NOAA’s Joint Polar Satellite System’s (JPSS’) Proving Ground and Risk Reduction (PGRR) Program. The JPSS Program’s Training Initiative – Empowering Users to Optimize the Operational Application of Satellite Data and Products

This presentation will focus on the NOAA Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Program’s Proving Ground and Risk Reduction (PGRR) key activities of the PGRR Training Initiative. The Training Initiative is the newest of the JPSS Initiative and is patterned after proven processes from the earlier initiatives. The poster will provide the background on the PGRR Training Projects involved in the initiative and the core objectives that guide its activities and decisions, Details on the initiative’s innovative approach to case-based training in satellite workshops will be presented. Specific examples of satellite training workshops that have occurred in 2018 will be highlighted to include feedback from the users participating in these workshops.
