We introduce the GeoFLuid Object Workbench (GeoFLOW) for the high order numerical solution to multi-dimensional partial differential equations on the sphere. Important aspects of the workbench will be presented including the development process, object-oriented design, and numerical algorithms allowing for efficient finite volume, discontinuous Galerkin and spectral element solutions. Test cases demonstrating the application and computational performance of the workbench will include high accuracy solutions to Burgers equation turbulence and shallow water solutions on the sphere.
