The U.S. Air Force provides space weather nowcasts, forecasts, watches, warnings, and alerts for Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Community operations. Providing these mission-tailored products requires a diverse set of space weather observations, including dedicated DOD platforms while also leveraging civil, allied, and commercial sensors. Additionally, meeting the needs of the joint warfighting community requires improvements in current modeling and forecast capabilities across the spectrum of operations with a DOD-specific focus on improving or developing new space weather impact models required for the protection of National Security assets. This presentation will provide an overview of Air Force space weather observational, modeling, and forecast requirements developed to support end-user needs for future missions and operations.
