Comparison of Total NO2 Vertical Column Density between WRF-Chem Simulation and the Observations from Pandora Spectrometer and Ozone Monitoring Instrument during the Lake Michigan Ozone Study in 2017.

The Lake Michigan Ozone Study was conducted from May to June in the year 2017. Observations from multiple platforms were used to study high ozone events in coastal communities surrounding Lake Michigan. We simulated the synoptic and chemical processes during the campaign with WRF-Chem V3.6 and compared the model calculation of total column NO2 with the measurements from the Pandora spectrometer and the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI). The causes of the agreement and disagreement between the simulation and measurements are discussed.
