Three decades ago there were no television Spanish-language weather presenters in the United States with any form of training in the field of meteorology. Now they can be found in most major TV markets, many with formal atmospheric science degrees. How did we get here? The author will present curious examples of how the weather segment was presented in Spanish-language broadcast news prior to the early 1990s, provide evidence of what he proposes launched this expertise revolution to get us to where we stand today.
